Experience the Renault Live Showroom
Renault is once again leading the way when it comes to technology. This time though, it is not the advanced technology in its vehicles that is making headlines, but the technology that has been implemented to create a virtual showroom. Live Showroom is a brand new way for South Africans to shop for cars without having to physically visit a dealership.
A first for this country, Renault’s pioneering technology means that its customers can have a showroom experience from the comfort and convenience of their own homes. With more and more people using the internet as their primary research and search tool, it makes perfect sense that this method of ‘shopping around’ be utilised.
Live Showroom offers customers a real-time virtual showroom encounter that allows them to browse through the entire range of Renault vehicles, interact with a sales person and have any queries answered.
With more and more South Africans using the internet as their primary method of research, the application of Live Showroom was a necessary step for Renault to take in order to provide its customers with a way to shop for cars that suit their lifestyles and habits.
According to Yosheen Govender, Renault SA’s digital manager, this bold new way of providing customers with access to a Renault dealership is because of “a growing trend amongst South Africans is to research products online prior to going in-store.” He went on to say: “I believe that we have been successful in creating a virtual experience that is second to none within the automotive industry in South Africa. Virtual experiences are the future of advertising and marketing and the rationale behind the creation of Live Showroom is to ensure that individuals logging into our site will enjoy a real-time experience with none of the pressures attached to an actual visit to a dealership.”
When on the Live Showroom site, visitors can select to ‘FOLLOW A CALL’ providing them access to a live call. They enter their name to access the live video stream where they can participate in an interactive vehicle demo. During the demo, potential customers can ask (type) questions that are then answered once the demonstration has been finished. Customers can then book a test drive, find a dealer or download a brochure.
While most customers still complete the sale at the dealership, this groundbreaking new way of buying a car looks set to revolutionise the industry in South Africa, and around the world.
Live Showroom is ‘open’ from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. It can be accessed via liveshowroom.renault.co.za
