Renault’s New Practical Family Favourites

Renault Introduces Two New 7-Seaters

The Renault Group is expanding its range of seven-seater vehicles with the introduction of the new Symbioz and Dacia Jogger. Both crossovers offer consumers a versatile and compelling choice for family travel and adventure with a modern, spacious and functional design.

Unveiled in the spring of 2024, the Symbioz carries forward Renault’s rich tradition of ‘voitures à vivre’, or ‘cars for living’, a legacy that dates back to the iconic Renault 16 of 1965. And there’s more. Symbioz plugs the gap between Renault’s Captur compact SUV and the larger, more premium Austral in their lineup of petrol and hybrid models. This addition, built on an extended version of the Renault-Nissan CMF-B architecture brings Renault’s offerings in the highly competitive C-segment to four vehicles, joining the Arkana, Scenic EV and the Austral.

Similarly, the Darcia Jogger is based on Renault’s CMF-B platform and combines estate car practicality, the spaciousness of a minivan, and SUV-inspired styling. On its lineup are three trim levels and two powertrains, featuring a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine alongside the new hybrid system.

Powertrain Options And Performance Of Renault’s Two New SUVs

The Symbioz will feature Renault’s ‘E-Tech’ full hybrid powertrain, delivering 145 hp, smooth performance, and impressive fuel economy with the potential to cover up to 1,000km (621 miles) on a single tank of petrol. You get a traditional 1.6-litre petrol engine paired with a 36 kW electric motor, an 18 kW high-voltage starter generator (HSG), and a 1.2 kWh battery. This ‘series-parallel hybrid’ system allows the engine and electric motor to work independently or together for optimal performance.

The Jogger has a 1.6-litre petrol engine that features two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh electric battery. Despite being more powerful than the original petrol model, the Dacia JOGGER Hybrid avoids the burden of increased emissions, boasting a low emission level of only 112g/km. It can operate on electric power for up to 80% of the time.

Besides its wallet-friendly powertrain, the Symbioz is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of busy families. It has a sliding rear bench that allows you to customise legroom and boot space, offering up to 624 litres of luggage capacity.

Additionally, every trim level comes equipped with Renault’s ‘OpenR Link’ multimedia system, integrating Google services. This includes a 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen, a 10.3-inch digital cockpit, and standard wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Symbioz also offers options like a ‘Solarbay’ opacifying glass sunroof, a Harman Kardon hi-fi system, and 48-colour ambient lighting. As expected of a family-focused vehicle, Renault has gone all-out on driver assistance and safety tech by incorporating the innovative Renault ‘Active Driver Assist’ on the Symbioz.
