Renault’s Limited Edition Kwid Ultra
The Kwid, Renault’s best seller in South Africa, has now received a new layer of desirability. A highly exclusive layer, it must be said. The new Renault Kwid Ultra Ltd Edt is super cool, but there will only be a hundred of them.
This Limited edition stands out from ‘normal’ Kwids in that it has gloss white paint offset by a contrasting black roof and side mirrors. It also has 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside it boasts an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with reverse camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has front and rear electric windows, AC and central locking. Dual front airbags and ABS brakes speak to its safety.
It is driven by the familiar and much loved 50kW/91Nm 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which in this edition comes only with the 5-speed manual.
It is nice to have an “Ultra Ltd Edt” car, but should you miss out on getting one of the hundred offered, it will not be the end of the road. Since its explosive launch and spectacular sales in 2015, the quick little Kwid has evolved to fill every needed niche in the small car market. Whether your need is purely driven by cost or a combination of cost plus features, or you are willing to pay a premium for full functionality in a compact package, there is a Kwid that will suit you. And the stock available is unlimited.
The current Renault Kwid Range consists of eight models offering various levels of trim at a range of prices. They are all powered by the same sippy 50kW petrol engine, with the option of an auto box in the higher trim models. The manual box gives you a very good combined cycle fuel consumption of 4.7 L/100 km and CO2 emission of 112 g/km, while the auto box takes this to an unbelievable 4.4 L/100km and 104 g/km.

By all means, have a look at the limited edition Kwid. It is grand to own a limited edition car, and the Ltd is very good looking and wheels are especially nice.
