Moov’in Paris E-Vehicle
When it comes to innovation, Groupe Renault takes great pride in staying ahead of the curve. As such, our international counterparts’ recent trailblazing collaboration with the ADA in Paris does not come as a surprise. By pooling their respective resources, Renault France and the local vehicle rental agency will be giving Parisians the option of getting around using a short-term, E-vehicle car-sharing service.
According to Christophe Plonevez, CEO of the ADA Group, their aim is to provide Parisians with access to clean cars to use for everyday commutes or getaways over weekends and holidays. “Mobility issues have never been so important, and cars are still viewed as essential for people living in the Paris region,” said Plonevez, who believes that the new partnership with Renault was the logical next step for their business, which already has 100 medium-term car rental agencies established throughout the region.
Renault will be supplying and maintaining the fleet of Renault ZOE and Renault Twizy vehicles, while ADA will be taking care of the logistics of renting out the vehicles and billing the users accordingly. The short-term rentals will be facilitated by means of a newly-developed app that will allow consumers to find and use an E-vehicle close to their location. The service will be free-floating, which means that users won’t need to book a vehicle in advance, and will be able to park a vehicle wherever they want once they’re done with it. After use, ADA will be responsible to collect and recharge the fleet vehicles.
The first 120 Renault E-vehicles have already been made available in three Parisian districts from September 2018, and the service will be rolled out more widely from January 2019. Renault France and the ADA will be using the testing phase to iron out any wrinkles in the process and to tweak the service in order to make it as user-friendly as possible.
