Buckle Up For Renault’s Remaking Revolution!

Renault’s Innovative 2024 Remanufacturing Strategy

The world of cars is changing fast, and Renault is at the forefront of the green wave. At Group1 Renault, we’re excited to be a part of something truly groundbreaking: Renault’s incredible remanufacturing initiative, The Remakers.

Imagine giving your car parts a second life, but not just any second life – a chance to perform just as well (or even better) than the originals. That’s the magic behind The Remakers, and it’s changing the game.

A New Era In Automotive Recycling

Renault’s journey towards a sustainable future took a significant leap with the establishment of The Remakers. This initiative, formerly known as The Future is Neutral, represents a bold vision of recycling every element of a vehicle. The Remakers is not just a name change; it signifies Renault’s steadfast dedication to reducing waste and promoting a circular economy within the automotive sector.

Flins Refactory = The Heart Of Innovation

At the core of Renault’s remanufacturing strategy lies the Flins Refactory in France. This pioneering facility is the first of its kind in Europe and is dedicated to the circular economy of mobility. The Refactory’s Re-Cycle program focuses on extending the life of vital car components. By salvaging and refurbishing these parts to original equipment standards, Renault significantly reduces waste and the environmental footprint of manufacturing new parts.

The Remakers is set to revolutionise the automotive industry by providing a wide range of recycled parts. This includes engines, gearboxes, turbochargers, injectors, electric motors, power electronics boxes, and multimedia systems. By accelerating the launch of new parts, particularly for hybrid and electric vehicles, Renault is ensuring that their sustainability efforts keep pace with technological advancements.

Driving Growth And Boosting Quality

Renault’s ambition is clear: increase business by 50% by 2030. This ambitious goal is supported by the expertise of Renault Group’s engineering skills and the high quality recognised in their remanufactured parts.

Rafael Tréguer, CEO of The Remakers, encapsulates the spirit of this venture, stating, “The creation of The Remakers opens a new chapter and great prospects for growth.” By combining refurbished and new components, The Remakers ensures that their products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

A €500 Million Investment Expands Horizons

Renault Group’s commitment to the remanufacturing strategy is underscored by a substantial €500 million investment. This funding aims to expand existing businesses and launch new ones by 2030.

According to Deloitte, the European replacement parts market, valued at €6.8 billion in 2022, is expected to grow to €8.2 billion by 2030. This growth is fueled by the ageing vehicle fleet and the rise of electric vehicles, making The Remakers’ role in the industry increasingly vital.

Collaborations For Decarbonisation

Renault’s vision extends beyond remanufacturing. In March, the Renault Group announced the production of a new generation electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) at its Sandouville plant in France.

This project is part of a joint venture with Volvo Group and logistics provider CMA CGM, aimed at decarbonising the transport and logistics sectors. The eLCV will feature a connected electronic platform to monitor delivery activity and business performance, potentially reducing logistic costs by up to 30%.
