New Renault Monster Pick-Up To Shape The Future!

Renault is working on a pick-up truck that looks like it could be out of a futuristic ‘Mad Max’ or ‘Ready Player One’ scene. With standout camo covering in several colours and 3D pop-culture-inspired Renault lettering on the front monster grille, it certainly is a striking new addition.

Known as the ‘Niagara Concept’, this truck has an ultra-bright light bar on the roof, a massive skid plate for added protection and even a winch attached to the front!

Underpinning the pick-up is the fact that it is driving the future of hybrid electric cars — this particular one has a mild-hybrid petrol engine. According to Renault, it can manage half of your daily commutes in full-electric mode, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. It boasts an advanced E-Tech 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive.

The new concept is also to showcase Renault’s ultra-flexible unibody platform of the future (as opposed to the ladder-frame configuration), which takes driving comfort to the next level. It measures 4900mm long with a 2950mm wheelbase and is described as an SUV-derived utility.

Renault also promises this beast of a pick-up will have “extra-high” ground clearance as well as “ample” off-roading angles, meaning it will be able to conquer just about any terrain. No doubt you will be able to take this baby on that dream 4×4 adventure.

In addition, it will have all of the latest technology one would expect from a cutting-edge SUV.

Niagara Concept is a preview of the new design language that will influence eight new models globally by 2027.

Although the Niagara Concept has international potential, we’re not quite sure if it will reach South African shores, with the most likely market being Brazil.
