Renault has celebrated the rollout of its 50,000th Kiger from the Chennai plant with a super slinky Stealth Black colour option.
With this, the Renault Kiger is available in 7 colours, as well the options of 4 dual tone colour combinations.
Aside from the new aesthetics, the 2022 Kiger also gets a significant facelift with a new tailgate chrome insert, front skid plate, TURBO door decals and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with Red wheel caps.
Safety and Quality
This brilliant small SUV has been awarded the 4-star safety rating by the Global NCAP and is also among the top two in the JD Power 2021 India Quality Study (IQS) in the compact SUV segment.
It has four airbags as standards, along with other safety features like ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, impact sensing door unlocks and ISOFIX anchorage for children’s seats.
The Kiger was first launched in India, and after that, we got it here in South Africa. It is also sold in Indonesia, East Africa, Nepal, Bhutan and Brunei among others.
It was developed as part of a collaboration between Renault’s design teams in France and India.
Engine Options
This SUV comes with two engine options – 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 52kW @ 6200rpm and 96 Nm @ 3500rpm, and 1.0-litre turbo petrol with 74kW @ 5 000rpm and 160 Nm @ 3500rpm. You have the choice of a manual or automatic transmission or the easy-drive X-Tronic CVT.
Fuel consumption is brilliant, between 5.0 and 5.4L/100km, depending on the engine and transmission options.
Warranty
The Kiger SUV warranties and service plan include a 3-year/ 45,000km service plan with the Kiger Turbo or a 2-year/ 30,000km service plan with the non-turbo model, as well as a 5-year/ 150,000 warranty and a 6-year anti-rust warranty. Services are performed every 15,000km.
The Renault Kiger comes in three trim levels: the Life, the Zen, Zen AMT and Zen Turbo, and the Intense Turbo and Intense CVT.
