The new Renault Duster crossover is for the whole fam
The 2022 Renault Duster has been the belle of the crossover SUV ball for a while now, and it’s easy to understand why – it’s very rare that you find a vehicle that straddles the divide between trustworthy family car and keen offroader with such inimitable style. This segment has plenty of great sports utility vehicles in the mix, including the KIA Seltos and Ford EcoSport, but none have the exact combination of must-have features that the 2022 Duster brings to the table.
Naturally, the features of the 2022 Renault Duster differs slightly from one model to the next, so for the purpose of this article we have cherry-picked the 1.5dCi Intens to share what you can expect when you get behind the wheel of this sought-after crossover.
First of all, it’s extremely good looking. Think 17-inch wheels, gleaming roof rails, and front- and rear skid plates that really make a statement alongside the sleek daytime running lights. The addition of these little details makes it stand out from the ‘soccer mom’ cars that are quite prevalent in this segment, giving it a little more edge, as well as the visual reassurance that it will be able to accompany you on a Cederberg hiking trip as easily as it tackles the daily commute.
The interior is also exactly as contemporary as you’d expect, with split-fold seats that can be folded down easily to create more boot space, alongside all sorts of handy storage nooks and crannies to stash must-haves on inner-city jaunts and offroad adventures alike. The infotainment system is also top-notch, featuring an ample 8-inch multimedia display that connects seamlessly with both Apple and Android devices.
Of course, the Duster is also built for optimal performance, with a 1.5l four-cylinder turbo-diesel that brings 80kW and 250Nm to the table. Four-wheel drive models benefit from an extra 10Nm of added oomph.
